1. Start in South Lakes High School (SLHS) west parking lot
2. Left onto South Lakes Drive to its end (at Sunrise Valley Drive) (using sidewalks and paths wherever available--this stretch of shoulder-less road is heavily traveled)
3. Right on Sunrise Valley to Post Oak Trail
4. Right on Post Oak Trail to Buckthorn
5. Left on Buckthorn to the W&OD Trail
6. Right on the W&OD, crossing Sunrise Valley to Wiehle Avenue [Water available at Warner Plumbing fountain at Sunset Hills Road]
7. Right on Wiehle Avenue to Fairway Drive
8. Left on Fairway to Hook Road
9. Left on Hook Road to where it rejoins Fairway
10. Left on Fairway to North Shore Drive
11. Left on North Shore to Lake Anne Elementary School on the right [Water stop may be located here]
12. Continue on North Shore to right on Wainwright Drive
13. Right on Reston trail about one block before Wainwright rejoins North Shore Drive
14. Follow trail through the "Summit" apartment complex and along Reston Parkway, turning right at the underpass under Reston Parkway
15. Left onto the sidewalk/path along the west side of Reston Parkway
16. Follow Reston Parkway across the Dulles Toll Road to South Lakes Drive
17. Left on South Lakes Drive (using sidewalks and paths wherever available--this stretch of shoulderless road is heavily traveled)
18. Left into west parking lot of SLHS to finish
