Directions
- Start at the Hunt Club parking lot east of Hunt Club Rd on Lake Fairfax Dr.
- North on Lake Fairfax Drive for about 1/2 mile
- Left on Hunt Club Road for about 1/3 mile
- Right on Ring Road for about 1/3 mile
- Right on path paralleling North Shore Drive on left side for about 1/3 mile, passing under Becontree Lane
- Right at "T" path intersection for about 50 feet to sidewalk along North Shore Drive
- Left on sidewalk along North Shore Drive for 50 feet
- Left onto the overpass over Wiehle Avenue
- Left on path along far side of Wiehle Avenue after crossing Wiehle Avenue on the overpass for about 1 1/4 mile, using path along Lake Anne dam, to the W&OD Trail [Water stop at intersection of W&OD Trail and path along Wiehle Avenue]
- 19-mile Runners: Jump to Step 13
- 10-mile Option: Right on the W&OD Trail for two miles toward Herndon, reversing direction when you reach the far side of the bridge over the Fairfax County Parkway (about 1/4 mile beyond the Milepost 18.5, between Town Center Pkwy and Herndon Parkway); return to Wiehle Ave. [Water here]
- Return to Start along same course as the first 3 miles (i.e., left on Wiehle Avenue, right at the second North Shore Drive (by the pedestrian overpass), right onto path paralleling North Shore, left on Ring,
left on Hunt Club, right on Lake Fairfax Dr.)
- 19-mile Runners (Continued): Left on W&OD Trail to Milepost 15 (about 1.8 miles)
- Reverse direction at Milepost 15, return to Wiehle Avenue [Water here], and continue on W&OD Trail to Milepost 21.5 [Additional water station on the trail at Van Buren Rd just west of Milepost 19.5]
- Reverse direction at Milepost 21.5, returning to Wiehle Avenue [Water at Van Buren and at Wiehle]
- Return to Start along same course as the first 3 miles (i.e., left on Wiehle Avenue, right at the second North Shore Drive (by the pedestrian overpass), right onto path paralleling North Shore, left on Ring,
left on Hunt Club, right on Lake Fairfax Dr.)
- Proceed straight to Lake Fairfax Park's entrance parking lot (crest of the hill) and then return back to the Hunt Club parking lot
