1. Right on Lake Newport Road for about 1/2 mile to the end of the road, crossing Fairfax County Parkway and Stuart Road
2. Reverse direction and continue about 1-1/2 mile, crossing Reston Parkway, to the other end of Lake Newport Road.
3. Reverse direction and continue about 1/4 mile to North Village Road.
4. Right on North Village Road for slightly less than one mile to Wiehle Avenue.
5. Reverse direction at Wiehle Avenue and return to Lake Newport Road.
6. Right on Lake Newport Road for about 3/4 mile, returning to the start at Lake Armstrong Elementary School.

This course, created by Joe Stowers, is identical, except for starting point, with snow emergency courses that start at Lake Newport Pool and North Hills Park Pavilion.
